Eugene Laverty says he is expecting a step forward in terms of results for final portion of the 2014 World Superbike Championship after a prolonged summer break.

With only three rounds of the 2014 WSBK season remaining, Laverty and the Voltcom Crescent Suzuki team resume action at Jerez with both parties looking for a strong end to the year.

With one win and one further podium to his name so far in 2014, Laverty is hoping Jerez - where he was a race winner with Aprilia last season - will prove well suited to his GSX-R1000.

"Jerez can't come soon enough following an incredibly long break. Jerez is a flowing circuit and I feel that it will suit the GSX-R well. I'm hoping for high temperatures to play into our hands as our bike works better in hot conditions.

"My Voltcom Crescent Suzuki team have continued to work hard during the summer break so I expect to find significant improvements during the final part of the season."
