Davide Giugliano was very pleased to qualify on the front row in second position the latest round of the World Superbike Championship in Jerez
With just minutes left on the clock Giugliano was set for his second pole position of the season after breaking the lap record with a 1minm 40.533secs lap, but a late flying effort from Loris Baz demoted him to second.
Blaming two small errors in the fast right handed turns that bring the lap to a close cost him fractions of a second., Giugliano was nonetheless pleased to be up at the front as he bids to return to the podium.
“At this moment I am very happy with this result and I like this track,” the Ducati rider told Crash.net
. “I am fast in Superpole and [in] first [position] but [without] two small errors in sector four I think it is possible to go faster.
“I'm happy. For tomorrow we will have two difficult races with my bike in these conditions. At the moment it's not so good for the passes but now I'm going back to my garage to speak to my technical guys! I think it's possible to go faster tomorrow.”
