Davide Giugliano says he can take plenty of encouragement from having completed a series of consistent lap times during free practice at Magny-Cours, including the fast time of the day.

The Italian, who is still seeking his first WSBK win on the Ducati 1199 Panigale, set the pace at the end of the first free practice day in France, his lap time of 1min 37.866secs a comfortable three tenths faster than the opposition.

Though Giugliano has often displayed impressive single lap pace since joining Ducati, he was impressed with the level of performance over a set of laps.
