Davide Giugliano firmly believes he was capable of beating Tom Sykes to pole position at Magny-Cours but is otherwise happy to be starting on the front row once again.

The Ducati rider has shown impressive form over a single lap in Superpole this year and is now set to start on the front row for the ninth time this season after joining Sykes in smashing the erstwhile lap record.

However, despite being pleased to be in range of Sykes' impressive pole winning pace, he believes he had the speed to beat his rival to the top spot.
