Alex Lowes will be focussing on honing his own performance more than technical tweaks when Crescent Suzuki kicks off its 2015 pre-season World Superbike tests later this week.

The young Englishman, eleventh with two podiums during his rookie season, will be on track alongside new team-mate Randy de Puniet during back-to-back outings at Portimao and Jerez.

"I'm really looking forward to going testing," Lowes said. "We had a great end to last year so my confidence is good. It's been a nice, steady winter - training and preparing - but I've missed riding my bike so I'm ready to get back out on track.

"Portimao and Jerez are good circuits, both for me and for the Suzuki GSX-R, and are great fun to ride. I don't want to get too carried away in testing, we went very well last year and it didn't set me up well for the opening race, but I'm definitely a lot calmer now!

"I've been thinking about a number of things over the winter so I'm just looking forward to getting back out there, working hard and putting them into practise. We have a number of items to test but my main focus is myself, and making sure I'm up-to-speed, calm and ready to start the season strongly for the first race at Phillip Island."

Crescent Suzuki will be on track at Portimao on January 21-22, then Jerez from January 26-27.
