Former South African Superbike champion Greg Gildenhuys will make his World Superbike Championship debut in Thailand after being drafted in by the Pedercini Kawasaki team.

The 26 year-old is a three-time title winner in his native South Africa and in 2013 competed in the FIM Superstock 1000 series with the title-winning BMW Italia team.

For the second round of World Superbikes, Gildenhuys will ride the Pedercini Kawasaki alongside David Salom, the Italian team having not secured a full-time rider for its second ZX-10R as yet having entrusted it to Matthew Walters in Australia.
