Alex Lowes has started his day as he means to go on by scoring the fastest time in morning warm-up ahead of the second round of the World Superbike Championship at the Chang International Circuit.

The Voltcom Crescent Suzuki rider starts from his first career World Superbike front row later today and will now take added confidence through to what promises to be two demanding races in the Thai humidity after edging out Jonathan Rea in warm-up.

Though Lowes was the only rider to break 1min 34secs, pole sitter Rea was a close second a tenth behind, followed by Leon Haslam, who ensured all three front row starts locked out the top positions in warm-up.

Jordi Torres was fourth fastest from Chaz Davies and Tom Sykes, whose session was brought to an early end by a technical issue on his Kawasaki.

Michael van der Mark led PATA Honda's challenge again in seventh, ahead of Troy Bayliss, David Salom and Matteo Baiocco.
