Davide Giugliano hailed 'an important weekend' for he and the Aruba.it Ducati World Superbike team as he feels his performances at Imola demonstrated a strong potential for the rest of 2015.

Giugliano started the day brilliantly by leading the first race until his strength dropped away. A third place was still a commendable result and the Italian was pleased to see the chequered flag after a grueling race two, which he at one point considered sitting out.

"I'm really pleased with the podium, which on a personal level is like a win for me," said the Roman. "After the first 'heat' I was already tired and the second part of the race was extremely difficult, I couldn't have done any more.
