Leon Haslam has stolen top spot from Tom Sykes with his final lap of free practice four, a 1m 28.163s, as the grid prepares for Saturday's Superpole sessions.
With FP4 not having an effect on the Superpole line-up there was less pressure on riders to set outright quickest times, but it didn't stop the Red Devils Aprilia rider who upped his pace in the dying moments to go a tenth faster than previous leader Sykes.
World Superbike championship leader Jonathan Rea was also able to chip away at his time, going two tenths faster than in Friday practice, to take third position with Davide Giugliano and Alex Lowes rounding out the top five.
Welsh rider Chaz Davies followed in sixth ahead of Pata Honda rider Michael van der Mark. Jordi Torres grabbed eighth spot 0.7s off his team-mate at the top as fastest FP1 rider Leon Camier and Matteo Baiocco completed the top ten.
Ayrton Badovini suffered a fast lowside crash down Craner Curves with 11 minutes remaining in the session and was bumped outside the top ten positions.
The Italian rider walked away from the fall unhurt but his BMW Motorrad Italia bike suffered a much harsher fate and requires extensive repairs for this afternoon's Superpole session.
