Alex Lowes feels his Voltcom Crescent Suzuki squad has made big improvements at his home round in the World Superbike championship and was left satisfied with his pair of sixth place finishes.

Despite being hampered with a lack of front end feeling the former British Superbike champion has paid huge credit to his team for its efforts at his home event.

"I'm happy enough with today as the boys and the bike worked well and I did my best to be as competitive as possible," Lowes said. "I was struggling with grip in both races and with some confidence on corner entry which lost me some time, but the second race felt better than the first.

"We've made some big steps forward, so now we've got something to build on to keep improving further for the next race. I did all I could and the team did a fantastic job, and as ever the support here was great."

The Lincolnshire-born rider was able to jump up to eighth in the World Superbike standings thanks to a healthy helping of points and can gain confidence from finding strong and consistent pace on board his Suzuki GX-10R.
