The Kawasakis of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea could barely be separated on the time sheets in morning warm up ahead of the two World Superbike races at Misano.
Starting from first and fourth on the grid, the Kawasaki teamsters ended the early morning session 0.06s apart as they look to continue their run of five one-two finishes in the last six races.
As Sykes set the fastest time that came on a one-off lap, Rea rattled off a nine-lap run with unerring consistency, each lap in the 1m 35s. Sykes on the other hand managed just four.
Yet to produce a Sunday display that brought home 25 points, Davide Giugliano was third and, like Rea, showed flashes of his race potential by posting nine consecutive laps in the 1m 35s.
Giugliano was quick to point out that he had struggled with his physical condition on Saturday after two crashes on Friday left him feeling well below one hundred percent.
Ayrton Badovini was fourth with Chaz Davies fifth, the Welshman able to match his team-mate's pace over a longer run. The Aprilia duo of Leon Haslam and Max Biaggi ended the session in sixth and seventh with Sylvain Guintoli eighth.
