Phillip Island will once again launch the World Superbike Championship season in 2016 after organisers confirmed an event date of 26-28 February.

One of the longest serving venues on the WSBK schedule, the Australian circuit - located just south of Melbourne - has played host as the series' curtain raiser since 2009 and will continue to do the same in 2016 after its dates were confirmed.

Traditionally, the opening round will be preceded by an official pre-season test at the venue a week earlier.
