Tom Sykes showed his fast crash in Superpole left no illeffects as he topped a damp World Superbike morning warm-up session at Magny-Cours.
Starting from ninth on the grid, Sykes led Leon Camier and Sylvain Guintoli as riders lapped the French circuit at a similar pace to Saturday afternoon when rain was falling.
The session was cut short after Markus Reiterberger's BMW S1000 RR expired, dumping oil from the 180 corner to Chateau d'Eau (turn 14). With marshals attending to the incident, warm-up sessions for both the Supersport and Superstock 1000 classes were cancelled.
Chaz Davies was fourth fastest, a place ahead of pole man Leon Haslam. Niccolo Canepa was sixth before he starts both races from the front row. Newly crowned world champion Jonathan Rea didn't set a time in the session.
