Davies and Ducati work on new electronic package

Chaz Davies kicked off his winter testing schedule in Aragon with new electronics to improve engine braking and front-end stability.
Chaz Davies kicked off his winter testing schedule in Aragon and confirms Ducati has made useful gains with a new electronic package to improve engine braking and front-end stability on his Panigale R.

The 2015 World Superbike runner-up was forced to spend the majority of the first day of the two-day test in the garages due to rainy conditions as he and the team worked on the bike's 2016 configuration.

With the weather brightening up on the second day, Davies enjoyed a full day on track and is satisfied with the results produced after notching up over 100 laps of the Motorland Aragon circuit.

“It was a very busy but positive day,” Davies summarised. “We worked a lot with the new electronics and particularly with the engine brake that is very important to me. The updates introduced for 2016 are positive and in the end the bike seems to be very stable and consistent, especially at the front.

“We also made an interesting comparison between the racing setting used here in April, that from the end of the season and, lastly, the 2016 version. The positive trend has been confirmed, both in terms of feeling with the bike and lap times, an important aspect that confirms we're moving in the right direction and that gives us confidence for the new season.”

Davies will return to action with the Ducati World Superbike squad for the second test session at Aragon on the 16-17 November before switching to Jerez for the third and final test of 2015 on the 25-27 November ahead of the winter testing ban.
