Karel Abraham is expecting an exciting challenge as he prepares for his rookie World Superbike campaign after joining Milwaukee BMW.
The Czech Republic rider has spent his whole career in Grand Prix racing and the last five seasons in MotoGP but is looking forward to a fresh test after his 2015 was badly affected by an injury picked up in a nasty crash at the Catalunya MotoGP, forcing him to miss eight races in total.
“Moving to World Superbikes with a team like Milwaukee BMW is hugely exciting,” said the former Moto2 race winner. “It will also be a challenge as I haven't ridden a Superbike and a lot of the tracks will be new but I am sure that we will be able to get up to speed quickly.”
Abraham will be making a big venture into the unknown next season having never competed in World Superbikes or with BMW machinery and joins a team also making its debut in the international series after stepping up from the British Superbike championship with 2015 title-winner Josh Brookes.
