Camier back on course as WSBK returns to testing

Leon Camier gets three days of mileage under his best aboard the MV Agusta F4 RC ahead of the 2016 World Superbike Championship.
Leon Camier says he is satisfied with the progress of his F4RC Superbike as he and the factory MV Agusta team returned to action during testing at Cartagena.

With the World Superbike winter testing ban coming to an end, the teams are beginning to fix their sights on the opening round of the 2016 season, taking place at Phillip Island on 27-28 February.

Though most manufacturers – including Yamaha, Ducati Honda and Kawasaki – will be back on track next week, MV Agusta got the jump on its rivals with a three-day scheduled test at an otherwise rainy Cartagena in Spain.

A chance for the manufacturer to get acquainted with the Forward Racing set up as the former MotoGP outfit prepares to go into collaboration with MV Agusta, Camier was pleased with the progress made to the revised bike over the winter.

"Despite the weather conditions not being so good, we have acquired important data for the development of my MV Agusta F4 RC. I am really satisfied and I am sure we can show further improvements at the next test."

Despite the arrival of Forward Racing – which dominated the Open MotoGP ranks in 2014 -, MV Agusta is set to persevere with just a single entry for Camier. Multiple WSBK race winner Marco Melandri did test the F4 recently, but has been reluctant to commit to a race deal.

Also present at Cartagena was Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti on the F3 Supersport bike, the pair just two of seven MV Agustas present in 2016 alongside entries by Alex Baldolini, Nico Terol, Roberto Rolfo, Gino Rea and Aiden Wagner.
