VFT Racing has pulled the wraps off the Ducati 1199 Panigale R it will race in the World Superbike Championship this season as it prepares for its maiden campaign in the premier class.

After four seasons riding a Yamaha in the Supersport class, Menghi and his family-run VFT team will make the move into World Superbikes for 2016 having taken purchase of a Ducati twin for its maiden campaign.

Revealing a familiar red, white and green livery, Menghi got his first taste of the bike during a private test at Vallelunga last week, but is now turning his attentions to the Phillip Island curtain raiser later this month.

"This night was special indeed, it was very nice to see almost every person in this project together excited waiting to see my new 2016 livery," Menghi said at a launch ceremony near Misano.

"I'm looking forward to riding my bike, gaining some experience on it and giving my very best starting with my first race in Phillip Island!"
