WSBK Phillip Island: Turkish star Razgatlioglu to make WSBK debut

Rising Turkish star Toprak Razgatlioglu will make his World Superbike Championship debut this weekend in place of the injured Josh Hook at Grillini Kawasaki
Defending Superstock 600 champion Toprak Razgatlioglu is to make an unexpected World Superbike Championship debut in Australia this weekend after being called up to replace the injured Josh Hook.

Grillini Kawasaki rider Hook crashed heavily during pre-season testing at Phillip Island this week, the Australian suffering a dislocated shoulder that has forced him to withdraw from what would have been his WSBK debut.

His misfortune though has opened the door unexpectedly for Turkish star Razgatlioglu, runaway winner of the European Superstock 600 crown last year and protégé of World Supersport Champion Kenan Sofuoglu, who will step aboard the Kawasaki ZX-10R this weekend.

Razgatlioglu is set to race full-time in the Superstock 1000 champion with Kawasaki.

I've heard good things about this kid so I'll be watching with interest...if he's as good as everyone says he is then Turkey have another future star on their hands. Shame for Josh Hook tho, especially at home, hope he's back on track soon.
