SSTK winner Lussiana to make WSBK debut

Former SSTK 1000 race winner and Brazilian Superbike Champion Matthieu Lussiana will make his World Superbike debut in Aragon.
Former Superstock 1000 race winner Matthieu Lussiana is set to make his World Superbike Championship debut at Motorland Aragon as a wild-card.

The Frenchman is a relative veteran of the Superbike paddock having over the years accumulated 53 Superstock 1000 race starts over the years, though it took until that final one to notch up his maiden victory on home soil at Magny-Cours in 2014.

Also a two-time Brazilian Superbike Champion, Lussiana will make his World Superbike debut in Spain aboard a BMW S1000RR prepared by Team ASPI, with whom he completed most of his races in Superstock 1000.

Meanwhile, Matteo Baiocco is set to race for VFT Ducati again in place of the injured Fabio Menghi after the Italian stepped in to replace him last time out in Thailand.

"having accumulated 53 Superstock 1000 race starts over the years, though it took until that final one to notch up his maiden victory on home soil at Magny-Cours in 2014" That sentence is a tad inaccurate, Lussiana raced all of the 2015 season bar Assen! It wasn't exactly an impressive account in 2015, 4 DNF's, 3 finishes and only 1 of those was a points finish - 13th at Misano.
