Tom Sykes has held his position out in front by taking a clean sweep of the free practice sessions at Donington Park thanks to effectively an identical lap from Friday.
After Leon Camier on the MV Agusta headed proceedings in the opening blasts it was Sykes who reassumed his top spot with a lap time 0.002s slower than his best effort from Friday free practice.
Sykes' Kawasaki team-mate Jonathan Rea ran wide on to the gravel trap at Coppice on his final flyer which prevented him from improving from sixth with Davide Giugliano prompted up to second ahead of Camier.
Nicky Hayden found some decent gains on the Honda after a tricky Friday to end the session fourth, which he will be hoping to take into Superpole one later this morning.
Chaz Davies claimed fifth on his rebuilt Aruba.it Racing Ducati Panigale R after it had burst into flames midway through FP2 yesterday. With Rea sixth, Lorenzo Savadori continued to play best of the rest in seventh as Jordi Torres, Alex de Angelis and Michael van der Mark completed the top ten.
Milwaukee BMW's Josh Brookes narrowly missed out on the top ten in 11th but ahead of both Pata Yamahas with Cameron Beaubier 12th and local favourite Alex Lowes 13th.
