Davide Giugliano has been ruled out of his last race for Aruba.it Racing Ducati by injury after being declared unfit to race after Sunday's warm-up at Losail.

The Italian rider has been struggling with soft tissue damage in a shoulder injury sustained in a nasty high-side off in the wet race two at Lausitzring last month.

Having pulled out of the following round at Magny-Cours, Giugliano battled on in Jerez as well as race one in Qatar before he retired from the race due to the pain in his shoulder.

After completing warm-up at Losail, finishing the session 14th overall, the Italian has been declared unfit by the World Superbike medical team in Qatar and subsequently will not start the final race of the 2016 campaign.

As a result, Giugliano will miss his last race for the factory Ducati squad ahead of being replaced by Marco Melandri alongside Chaz Davies in 2017.

Giugliano will finish the season seventh in the World Superbike riders' championship, as he has a 32 point advantage over MV Agusta's Leon Camier, and has claimed five rostrum results in 2016.
