VIDEO: Rea assesses his 2017 World Superbike rivals

Crash.net catches up with Jonathan Rea as he casts his eye over the 2017 grid and who he expects to be the biggest threats.
Crash.net catches up with double World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea at Jerez during winter testing as he casts his eye over the 2017 grid and where he expects the biggest threats to come from.

While the top three from 2016 are staying put, there is an intriguing shake-up across the World Superbike grid headlined by the return of Eugene Laverty who joins forces with Shaun Muir's Milwaukee Aprilia squad alongside promising youngster Lorenzo Savadori.

With the arrival of the all-new Honda Fireblade, Stefan Bradl joins the fold to team-mate Nicky Hayden as the Ten Kate squad readies its 2017 charge.

Chaz Davies has new company on the other side of the Aruba.it Racing Ducati garage with the familiar face of Marco Melandri also returning to World Superbikes.

Michael van der Mark has rotated across to the Pata Yamaha squad to team-mate Alex Lowes, while Leon Camier remains with MV Agusta as he aims to build upon his recent momentum.

As a result, Rea has healthy competition stacked against him as he gives his thoughts on who could pose him the biggest threat from securing an unprecedented third consecutive World Superbike crown, while also looking back on his success in 2016 with the new Kawasaki ZX-10R.
