Chaz Davies has broken the Jonathan Rea domination by topping the warm-up session at Portimao for Aruba.it Racing Ducati.

After Rea claimed pole position by over seventh-tenths of a second before easing to victory in the Portuguese opener, Davies has struck with 1m 42.396s in the short warm-up session ahead of race two.

With Rea’s preferred Pirelli rear option being withdrawn between qualifying and race one on safety grounds, the Kawasaki Racing Team rider has been getting to grips with his option compound at the Portuguese circuit as he aims to do the double starting from his reversed grid position of ninth.
