Winston Ten Kate's Sebastien Charpentier won the World Supersport at Silverstone today by a comfortable 2.8secs ahead of Yamaha Motor Germany's Kevin Curtain.

British Superbike's Craig Jones got a flying start that saw him lead the field into the first corner, and looked to be able to challenge for a podium until he, like team-mate Cal Crutchlow, had to retire early non in the race.

Charpentier and Curtain took out a substantial lead as they battled for the lead, with Curtain faltering and backing off late to take a secure second later in the 28 lap race.
