Vermeulen does Assen double.

Troy Corser finished in fourth after suffering with grip problems all race, an Assen win still eluding the Aussie veteran. Corser is still leading the championship, but Vermeulen is now 'only' 86 points behind.

The Rizla Suzuki team didn't have the result it had been hoping for, with local rider Jurgen van den Goorbergh coming over the line in 17th, missing out on scoring one point.

The Petronas team, however, had a comparatively good day at the office, with both riders finishing both races in the points. Race two saw Garry McCoy go from 21st to twelfth, while Steve Martin finished in 16th.

Renegade Koji Honda rider, Ben Bostrom, finished in tenth place, a good result for the team who have had a string of bad luck. Bostrom crashed heavily during the Silverstone BSB meeting and took a while to find his form again, not eating for much of the intervening period before Assen. However, having qualified 16th in Holland, it looks like the American is at least some way back to his usual self!

4.Troy Corser
