Troy Bayliss on the Xerox Ducati took a well earned win over Troy Corser on the Alstare Corona Extra Suzuki at round three of the Corona Extra Superbike World Championship at Valencia in Spain.

Bayliss was pleased with his win saying "I'm happy to take the win, it all went to plan and I thought I could lose two and a half to three seconds to Troy Corser. I gave it my all to stay with him and then his tyre went so I just kept the same pace. I want a dry race two and another good result. I'm planning on running the hard tyre again in race two."

Reigning World Champion Troy Corser was a little disappointed with his second place finish. "My race strategy worked well, I got a good start, got in front and tried to pull away but I wasn't able to get the same lap time as yesterday. I was sure Troy Bayliss had a harder tyre than me and I couldn't shake him," he explained "After ten laps I tried to save the tyre and keep some for the end of the race. Troy had more tyre left and he got me. I'm a bit disappointed but pretty happy too."
