Spies does the double in Qatar

Elsewhere, Carlos Checa was a disappointing 13th after finishing fifth in the first race, ahead of Regis Laconi and Yukio Kagayama, the Japanese rider just edging out Broc Parkes and Jakub Smrz, the front row sitter having been forced to start from the pit lane for the second race.

Yamaha will keep him. He'll probably stay in WSBK for two years then go motogp so Yamaha can groom him as Rossi's replacement. This boy is serious business! Twins have won since what? Kocinski, Russell? Since 93 a twin has won the championship 13 out of 15 times. Spies is dominating on a 4 cyclinder! And it's a Yamaha!
