Andrew - I presume you mean European Superstock. Roberts was convincing enough to win the title - there are a lot more competitive riders in Europe than in British Superstock. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but John Hacketts BSB team was offerred full factory Ducatis for 2009 provided that Brendan rode them, unfortunately he turned down the offer and Ducati would not let Rutter take his place. I am sure Brendan wishes he had taken the BSB ride when it was offerred.
