I too heard the same rumours but anoyone thinking of laying their hopes at the door of Aprilia may find themselves on shaky ground.
There has been talk in Italian media of Aprilia "considering their role" in WSBK as a factory team. Remember the RSV4 started its development as a MotoGP bike but that was changed when bikes went to 800's. Since the announcement that 1000's were returning there have been several comments made by top brass at Aprilia have made comments about how the RSV4 conforms to the 1000cc MGP rules, Recently strong rumours abound in Italian media that Aprilia will follow Ducati & Yamaha out of WSBK as a factory but will remain a supplier in order to return their focus on MGP. It would be very easy & cheap for them to supply a CRT team with "factory" equipment as a means to develop a full prototype machine
