I think the bike has a lot to do with their success this year...
Remember that this is the 2009 R6 which won Supersport with cal Crutchlow aboard, and that Yamaha admitted they couldn't afford to run in 2010 as they'd spent so much money on it!
In 09 Yamaha won the lot: WSBK, WSS, BSB and of course MotoGP.
They wanted it badly.
I think the ex-factory R6 is the quickest bike out there and that the same riders on the notoriously difficult R1 could have problems...
