Two separate issues from two separate races here. Race 1 was rightly stopped when it started to rain, but to be unable to race in the wet due to poor tyres is a joke. I noticed today that Pirelli's website says something like "if you compete in motorsport you can't help but ride Pirellis", which is all too true - they're a control tyre. When they've raced against anyone else they've always been uncompetitive.
As for race two, which is the crux of Liberty's frustration, I can't understand why the start was delayed, and all that stopping/starting must explain why two bikes failed on the warm-up lap. Conditions looked fine, and it ultimately cost us the chance to get a full race in. Liberty are a professional, well-funded team of serious racers, and they looked out of place in a circus yesterday.
