This equal machinery argument is a little boring now guys!! Both these riders were on good machines, the honda outclassed the BMW in the corners, Melandri was shuffled back to third and he dug in and clawed back the result. He lost in the corners but kept it in there...there were a few times in every lap where I thought that he would dump it because that thing was unsettled in the corners, I think he looked most comfortable in the "attitude" corners. With that said if he had 10 Km/h on Rea, I would question his ability, the difference is 5 km/h and Rea cleaned that advantage in every corner. Good ride to Rea but Melandri held the advantage on the final lap in the corners where Rea was so much better and that is what won him the race. PS he lead the whole last lap. MM did not take Rea on the last corner and out dragged him to the line (eg Casey and Ben- Valencia 2011)
