Everything hinged on Biaggi's decision. Aprilia are now deciding, at a late stage, the best route for future operations. They cannot make a definitive comment on Guinters yet because they have not settled their future structure. Guinters is probably looking for a longer term than just one year and Aprilia are not yet at that stage because they are not even sure, without Biaggi, if they want to run as a full factory or pull a BMW and hand off operations to a Satellite outfit such as Althea with whom they need to settle first before rider commitment.
It is however obvious that Guinters is the target but the contract still needs to be settled and all that is based on the future structure of Aprilia Racing.
