Good move, long overdue. The reason we have such a small WSBK grid now is that the factory bikes in particular are so tricked out they might as well be prototypes. I like WSBK BECAUSE it's supposed to be production based, but the reality has been a long way removed from that for quite some time.
And there is just no need for WSBK to be so bleeding edge, the road bikes themselves are super fast as is. beef up the suspension and engine sure, but there is just no need for gazillion dollar aftermarket electronics packages and technicians. IMO if the bike comes off the showroom floor with TC then it should be allowed to use the STOCK setup, but all aftermarket electronic packages and software should be banned. I would also like to see success ballast applied to all bikes, not just the Ducati.
Superstock is really a second tier feeder class, so maybe all that's needed is a name change rather than getting rid of it lock stock and barrel. Just call it B grade or something.
