The thing is - fans are sticking their heads in the sand and saying, I want, I want (but I ain't paying for it). The way Racing is now it is unsustainable - the costs of WSBK and MotoGp racing are way too high, and the return in terms of viewers and value for sponsors simply isn't worth it. The manufacturer's themselves helped create the problems by making it so you HAVE to have uber-expensive Tech and Boffins and bikes make of last-all-weekend unobtainium. Now the global economy is strapped for cash all this excess cannot continue.
Its simple - would fans rather have less tech, lower lap times, full grids and great racing, or empty grids with a couple of factory bikes lapping very fast and very lonely with acres of empty tarmac?
If it can't be paid for, you can't have it. Welcome to the real world!
