@ pp916 I think the hospitality etc. is unlikely to change - the team and series sponsors want to impress the people they are courting, and that tends to mean 'being a bit flash'. Also, the wealthy are the only demographic permanently immune to economic depression - if anything their buying power means they get more bang for their buck and make even more money while the rest of us worry how to make ends meet. Which makes them the perfect customer, and you need a little bling and some posh hospitality to get the moneyed to spend it with you instead of somewhere else. As for the Tech - well a lot of the expense is in bespoke ECU systems and the Tech Geeks to alter a myriad of settings and maps to perfect the bike for every inch of track. I'm all for getting rid of that!
