The suggestion of bringing two series under one banner just doesn't add up.
If you buy up both series and are making money from both then why would you amalgamate them? In fact why would you even bother buying up WSB if only to pull the rug from under it? You wouldn't all of a sudden increase GP gates as most of us watch WSB and GP (and over here we watch BSB too)...on TV and at the track, we certainly do the lot in our house
19 or 20 rounds for GP and 13 or 14 for WSB and you remove those 13 or 14 rounds to bring them in with GP and then you take away 25% (or so) of your earnings potential?
It's not just the ticket sales it also also the TV rights, merchandise etc etc
There is room for both World Series and they need some separation in terms of tech..or lack thereof. Bigger grids for both and closer racing as already mentioned is the way to go
