Q: "How can a company so powerful and with unlimited resources build such a POS out of the box?" A: it's not a POS, honda is only now realizing the error of pulling chocks 'n chains on WSBK more than a decade ago. kyonari's owned 3X. re: "The team name may be Ten Kate but make no mistake it is now a full HRC works team so many of the tech staff are HRC & all of the support/development is being done by HRC. With that in mind is it any real surprise that HRC are trying out many new parts & electronics to get the best out of the ageing fireblade pending its replacement for next season?" nothing's really new. BSB blades have been HRC bikes supplied under the auspices of Honda UK for years, same as the original Castrol RC45/SP1 team of old (edwards/slight/okada) headed by tuxworth. these parts would be those.
