Agree with Jon that costs need to be controlled,& that Stockers are plenty quick enough and need more input from the rider - which is what fans and the racing need.
But - that doesn't have to mean the scenario that 'Think Jon' put forward - after all change the number from 3 to 2 & he just described MotoGP - and look at the toys THEY get to play with.
OTOH - look at BSB. Their rules cut costs and its a fast and highly competitive series with many teams and marques in with a shout of a win, and a shot at the title. 2011 & 2012 were very good seasons, and there's a good chance that 2013 will be as well.
In any case - Dorna are bound to introduce measures to cut costs in WSBK anyway - the only worry is what a hash they make of it. By involving the Mfr's in the process they've already screwed up IMO - Dorna need the cahones to take control and dictate policy to Honda et al to avoid the mistakes made with MGP (IMO).
