I thought his injury where much worse than they seem to be. Dislocation of his knee, resolving in a torn or heavily stretched ligaments, would normally take months to recover. I was even starting to think about who would replace him. Was picturing Tommy Hill possible on the bike, I think he is to good of a superbike rider to not be racing. I just don´t remember hearing about dislocated knee, without ligament damage and that usually is a lengthy recovery.
