Wow, this thread is getting nasty. What do we know? The Panigale in the hands of an injured Checa is struggling... it is in BSB, albeit it's not being ridden by championship contenders. It is, however, doing incredibly well in world/euro Superstock. It's a VERY good bike and whether you're using it for riding to the burger van, riding on track days or racing all the way up to club level you'll have no issues. Lots of Panigale's on the used market is no sign the bike isn't up to the level of weekend warriors (me included), it's just people buying + selling. Shamarone, you seem to know your bikes and have been around racing for a long time but I can't agree that Checa would've done the double on the 1198, just because GSE used to do well there!!! You might as well say BSA would win if they had a modern bike as they did quite well in 1953... Times change. Bikes change. Teams change.
