Just have to point this out: Factory teams does not equal good racing. Often times it has actually been quite the opposite... If you let the manufacturer teams get too much influence then noone else will bother competing because they will never be on the same level. And then you get small grid numbers. Look at MotoGP a few years ago. I think generally it's a good idea to let the manufacturers build the bikes and then let (private) racing teams do the racing. NASCAR for example has several manufacturers, but you can still enter it as a small team knowing you'll have the same equipment as everyone else. Just saying.
