Hannspree Ten Kate Honda's reigning World Supersport Champion, Sebastien Charpentier injured his shoulder and hip during a crash in first free practice at Donington Park.
The French rider had a plate fitted to his broken collar bone last season and it is feared that it may have moved due to the fall this morning. He has also sustained muscle damage to his upper leg.
He is missing first qualifying to receive medical treatment in the hope that he can get back on track for Saturday.
Charpentier has had a difficult start to the season with a crash at Qatar and a fourth place finish at Phillip Island leaving him in ninth place overall in the standings, while his team-mate Kenan Sofuoglu
leads the championship.
