Mark Aitchison

Mark Aitchison

Following a misguided stint on the Grillini BMW last season, Mark Aitchison made the most of a renewed opportunity to show the form that originally captured attention in 2011 by reviving his relationship with Pedercini Kawasaki during the closing stages of 2013.

Ignoring his brief return to WSBK competition with the disgraced Effenbert Liberty team – which promptly folded almost quickly as it had returned -, Aitchison’s return to Pedercini for the final six rounds in place of he injured Alexander Lundh showed promise.

Immediately quicker than team-mate Federico Sandi, Aitchison would often haul the unfancied satellite ZX-10R into respectable positions, the Australian cracking the top ten on three occasions – in turn accumulating more points in six events than he managed during his full season with the team in 2011.
