WSS » PTR boss: Sofuoglu penalty not harsh enough

Simon Buckmaster: In my opinion the penalty was simply nowhere near harsh enough for such an outright dangerous move. It is not the first time with Kenan either...

Kenan's private comment "he did it to me"
So yes, he did it intentionally.
My view: Four laps earlier Kenan ducked for Fabien's tear off - perhaps that incensed him.
The penalty was insufficient and WSBK/FIM need to take proper action.
However, no need to overly bash the guy, he is an excellent rider who needs to be punished for a rash action taken in the heat of battle.

Seriously there are many unsafe things done by many riders and Sofuoglu obviously has an anger issue while riding. He was obviously wrong for his antics but I've seen many other riders do even more dangerous maneuvers in less dramatic way and get away with it. In this incident I don't know if Foret did something to enrage him but still he should be smarter and use safe passing and win to show your true anger. Maybe he needs some anger management help.

Kenan is a talented and exciting rider to watch let's hope he can direct his energy and anger into improving his ride and not go crazy with tough moves done by other riders which are meant to try to rattle you. Solution, pass and win without the drama then you can flip the bird to the naysayers.

Simon Buckmaster is correct. The rules must be applied equally and fairly. Irrespective of anyone's view or a rider's view if a penalty is right or wrong, there is a stipulated procedure.
Kenan failed to follow the direction of Race Direction within the prescribed 3 Laps and the penalty could only be Exclusion from the results.

Kenan should have been shown the BLACK FLAG and not the Checkered Flag.

Why don't the other teams make official complaints to the organisers? Threaten not to race if this type of action occurs and isn't punished appropriately . Of course, they will have to ensure their own riders don't do anything 'stupid' like softglue!
