the r6 has always been a great race bike, not surpriseed its near the front BUT sam lowes has always shown he has the speed in testing and practice, but wilts when it comes to the actual races. Will see if hes made any progress on his race craft ...

lowes is fast, but the SS tires are slow, hopefully he finds the 'best' pace to work with. I think if SS had the Dunlop slicks of Moto2 they might get more race pace instead of the lets creep along for most of the race and only push for 5 or 6 laps during the whole of a race. Would be nice to see some stronger tires in SS, cause it was weak sauce last year. I think it was either Russia or the round after where they were consistently slowing down (the one where Cluzel came back) to keep their tires from going kaput. I understand the tires they have to race on, but those bikes and riders are much faster than what they have to wear around the rims of their bikes.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Sam Lowes goes this year.
Bit worried about how old the bikes are?
Also would be nice to see Iddon do well on the new MV.
Plus Alex Lowes in BSB.
It's just good to see some youth getting a proper go!

@veto

What the heck do you mean by how old the bikes are?

You havent been paying attention to the news, have you?
For starters, the r6 is known for its on trck quality by most expperts. Besides, those yaknich bikes will be tuned up by Yamaha Italia, who used to be running the official squads both in WSBK and WSS with Cal Crutchlow. Then in 2011, the Parkingo bikes were acquired to Yamaha Italia, who shook the dust out of them, and gave updated electronics packages to them, on their way to the title with Chaz Davies!
I dont really understand that concern, since Yamaha Italia is the european representative of yamaha japan. So, i wouldnt be too worried about it. CHEERS

Popped down the road to see Sam and Alex talking to Jack from Eurosport today at CMC Clay Cross - the two of them make a great double act and very entertaining it was too - said his new bike was definitely quicker than the PTR Honda of last year.
Sam doesn't seem to like KS that much, which is quite understandable, although I was a bit disappointed he didn't seem to offer much support to Bradley

bringback2strokes.... I don't understand why you would be disappointed that Sam didn't show much support to Bradley. Sam, like most riders, do not believe Bradley has "earn't" his place in MotoGP. If you speak to a lot of the riders most will tell you it had much more to do with Monster sponsorship deal cut by the USA management of both Cal & Bradley. Riders like Sam will have to win a few championships before he would even get a sniff of MotoGP. Saying that I hope Bradley proves us wrong & does well.
