Well, he signed a lucrative contract for Alitalia last week so this was no surprise. You know how it is, got to get as many pension portfolios on the go as possible, especially when each is worth well in excess of a million Euro...I can't believe he's only 62yrs old, his foto's are being airbrushed !

"Domenicali replaces Del Torchio as Ducati CEO"
unfortunitly no surprise here... Im sure hes good and all and the fact that hes been there for so long has everything to do with as well to do with whats wrong with it... they need a complete shake up business altho sales in 2012 was up 16%, there motogp team has been, and will continue to fail.

2nd in the hunt was, Wolfgang Durheimer the 2nd in comand at audi, look him up, this man loves bikes, wanted to race bikes, and is a serious power house at Audi, but, word is he is being postioned to be the next ceo of Audi. goggle n read the forbes artical dated 12-10-12, this man would have straighting out ducati in year, if not sooner. oh well... good luck Domenicali...

If Ducati as a whole goes as it's MotoGP project then I'll be sad to see all those snub ducatisti slowly disappear - I love mocking them after typical comments like "I've got Brembo brakes so I should outbrake you at the end of the straight".

Jeez, can someone please translate the last post into some form of recognisable language?
Seriously, who can blame him leaving? He has been in the job six years and fancies a new, last role before retirement comes. Absolutely nothing wrong in that.
Also, I'm sure behinds the scenes that many senior staff are not relishing the German management style & approach that is undoubtedly being imposed. I'm sure others will choose to leave over the coming months.
Good luck in your new role DT.
