"You [Schwantz] were a great rider, super spectacular, but always in the shade, first of Eddie Lawson and then Wayne Rainey" - Alberto Puig.

Puig needs a chill pill. As a former champion and legend, Schwantz is entitled to his opinion. Doesn't make him right all the time, but he's entitled to it nonetheless, far more than *ehem* armchair racers including inexperienced journalists.

You know, I do think Puig is holding Pedrosa back. I think Puig sees Pedrosa as someone who is not going to become champion and is now going to back Marquez. I get the feeling that if Pedrosa got the chance to ride the factory Yamaha instead, without Puig there, he could outdo Lorenzo and become champion

He doesn't hold him back, but he doesn't help him either. Watch him on the grid, always nervous & darting about which I feel feeds into the rider. He won't be a great mentor as he's too hyper which is a bad thing. I don't hink DP would win a championship but not all down to Puig, and now with a Spanish tea mate he's toast at the end of the year.

Right or wrong, it was an aggressively funny reply.
Public spats of this kind are great fun.

Hope KS replies with a dig at Puig's terrible hair transplant.

It's very wrong to be direspectful of a rider that has won as much as Pedrosa. At the same time, he has been at Honda 8 years, and does appear a bit fragile as compared to Rossi, Lorenzo, Stoner, Hayden, who of course have won titles during Dani's time at Honda.

Kevin you would have one more on the right bike and with the right passport. Respect for quick raw talent. DP, you have flashes of brilliance but too fragile physically and mentally for the big guns and Alberto seems to be stuck on you out of pride for his original predictions. I think Danni needs a radical change of mental preparation to make him more aggressive and tough love to push him to his limit by telling him he will probably never win a championship unless he stops doing what has not worked so far. That is that the bike is not quite right for his talent. He needs to MAKE the bike a winner.
