Kev Coghlan - Q&A

Yeah, that didn't help! I've been speaking to the team already about doing the same thing again next year so hopefully that comes off and we can hit the ground running rather than everything being a mess at the start of the year.

Even with some of the tracks, trying to learn them can be difficult. I hadn't been to Phillip Island and I hadn't been to Donington for a long time either. That definitely takes a bit of getting used to.

Crash.net:
Russia is up next, your team's home race. You have been spending quite a bit of time there.

Kev Coghlan:
I've been doing a bit of training with the team out there and going along to the Russian Superbike rounds just to promote the team. It's good, a bit strange and different. But when I go out with those guys it's alright, they look after me and it's good fun.

I went to the track at the end of last year for the Russian Superbike round on the Superstock 1000 and it seems like a good track. It's a bit slow compared to most of the tracks we go to, a lot of it is in second or third gear, but it's fun.

Crash.net:
Your career has taken a slightly unconventional path. You moved to Spain at a young age, what was the reason behind that?

Kev Coghlan:
Basically, I couldn't afford to race in England. I got the offer of a free ride to go out to Spain and that was the only option I had. It wasn't a bad option though, getting to live there! We just had to take everything as it came to us, we went to Spain and then when I was there, there was a good chance for us to come to this paddock too. It's worked out well.

Crash.net:
And finally Kev, do you feel you now have a solid platform to work from for the rest of the season?

Kev Coghlan:
Yeah, throughout the first half of this year we've had a few changes within the team with mechanics and stuff. It has never been a stable situation. But if we can get something a bit more constant then it should be easier to build on for the rest of the year.
