WSS: Rea signs for 2011

Gino Rea staying at Intermoto Honda
Several sources, including Speed Week, are reporting that Gino Rea has re-signed with the Intermoto Czech Honda team for his second season in the World Supersport Championship.

The 21-year-old Briton graduated to WSS as the reigning Superstock 600 champion and finished the year a solid ninth overall.

The highlight of Rea's season was a home podium at Silverstone, and he was only denied a repeat rostrum when he was disqualified from second place due to a technical infringement at the Nurburgring.

Had Rea kept those 20 points he would have finished fifth in the standings.

Rea would be the fourth British rider to be confirmed on the 2011 WSS grid, alongside Chaz Davies, Sam Lowes and James Ellison.

I presume it is for PR reasons relating to sponsorship. It still isn't official even though there is an interview with him in todays edition of MCN in which he confirms his signing for 12 months.
